Academic Résumé:

Matthias Lamping grew up in Andalusia and studied law at the Paris-Lodron University of Salzburg with a focus on international economic law, commercial law and European law. Matthias has worked for a Swiss law firm and in the finance and controlling department of a Swiss ropeway manufacturer before concluding his doctoral thesis about “Patent Protection and Market Power” (Carl Heymanns) and joining the Max Planck Institute for Intellectual Property and Competition Law in Munich. He has been a senior research fellow since July 2009 and is currently working on his habilitation at the interface of civil law and intellectual property law. He is a faculty member of the Munich Intellectual Property Law Center (MIPLC) and the Ludwig Maximilians University Munich (LMU). His current research focus involves patent and competition law as well as issues of legal philosophy, European law, WTO law and general civil and commercial law.
