Internet-Based Technologies and Digital Business Models

The study uses a big data approach to explore the status quo of German enterprises with regard to the use of internetbased technologies and digital business models. In this project, a data collection infrastructure is developed for systematically gathering data from over 100.000 corporate websites in a regular, systematic and cost-effective manner, thus providing novel firm-level data for economics and business studies on the digital economy. The interdisciplinary project team combines expertise from computer science, economics and management studies.
