The Impact of Incentives on Creativity

Creativity is of utmost importance for firms, organizations and the society. It can be considered a key precondition for innovation and ultimately economic growth. Despite its relevance for economics, the economics science has only recently started to investigate factors that affect creative performance. With this project, we aim at shedding light on this question, in particular on the effects of (different forms of) incentives on creativity. By conducting economic experiments, we will be able to make causal inferences concerning the conditions under which creative performance is manageable through incentives.
