On March 24, 2014, Dr. Jörn Erselius was the speaker in the eighteenth [IP]² seminar on "Technology Transfer between Basic Science and Industry". As the Managing Director of Max Planck Innovation GmbH, the technology transfer agency of the Max Planck Society, Dr. Erselius spoke about the challenges encountered at the interface of academia and business. He furthermore elaborated on the services his agency offers in response to these challenges. These services range from the support in filing, managing, and litigating patents to networking as well as assisting in the process of founding start-up and spin-off companies. After his very interesting and practice-oriented presentation, many of the attending researchers and guests took advantage of the opportunity and engaged in a lively discussion. [IP]²
